Custom Wire Grid Polarizers
This paper reports on PROTOCALC, a drone-borne W-band (~90 GHz) source for high-precision CMB polarization angle calibration. Integrating an RF chain, wire-grid polarizer, and photogrammetry camera, Atacama field tests targeting CLASS and Simons Observatory demonstrated 0.045° roll-angle accuracy for future projects like CMB-S4.
The grid is manufactured by PureWave Polarizers and uses tungsten wires with 10 μm diameter and wire-spacing of 100 μm.

10 µm Free-Standing Wire Grid Polarizers
A customised THz time-domain ellipsometer uses three Purewavepolarizers free-standing wire-grid polarizers for polarization preparation, analysis and calibration. The calibrated system enables accurate characterisation of solid and highly absorptive liquid materials.
For the control and detection of the polarization states we employ three substrate free Wire Grid Polarizers (WGP) from PureWavePolarizers Ltd
